14th September 2024On a bright Saturday afternoon, Littlemore RFC took to the field in an eye-catching pink kit, ready for battle against Chinnor IVs, sporting their Outlaw yellows. The atmosphere was set for a thrilling encounter, and the match certainly met expectations.Littlemore showed immense strength in the lineouts from the first whistle, consistently outclassing their opponents. However, Chinnor's scrummaging proved to be a force to be reckoned with, setting the stage for a tightly contested match. Both teams' scrum-halves were relentless, expertly winning possession after the rucks, which opened the door for Dave Lammin and Shaun Eadle to get on the scoreboard for Littlemore with some well-worked moves.The match was packed with impressive clearances and quick-fire offloads, as Littlemore moved the ball around with intent. However, there was one notable moment of confusion when Grant Wilson, Littlemore player, perhaps in the heat of the moment, mistook a pass for a kick, sending the ball flying towards the sideline to the amusement of the Chinnor Outlaws.In the second half, Matt Cooper skillfully weaved past the Yellow defence to score a try. Not to be outdone, James Bell powered through the Outlaws' defence to also claim his first try of the season. In the end, it was Zee Vitkus who stole the show. His commitment in defence and tireless work rate earned him the Man of the Match honours, with his tackling and positive attitude proving pivotal in Littlemore’s performance.It was a hard-fought contest, and although Chinnor showed their class in the scrum, Littlemore’s resilience and teamwork shone through on this memorable afternoon.Final score (LRFC 24 - CHI IV 38)
