Littlemore 40 V Oxford 2’s 28 (friendly)
Game 3 for Littlemore should have seen the squad take on Abingdon 2’s this weekend, but unfortunately, Abingdon conceded the game and Littlemore were awarded a home walkover.
After much ringing around to find a fixture, Oxford 2’s stepped in at the last minute, and it was game on from there on in.
Sitting 3rd in the league just behind Aylesbury 2’s and Didcot 2’s, the squad have clearly been working hard in training, as this weekends result proved.
Littlemore showed early dominance across the pitch, with strength in the forwards at scrum time, and also in the backs for some free flowing running. Early tries, and with much of the possession and territory, Littlemore looked certain to be in for the win early on.
Full credit to Oxford for sticking to their game plan though. A late try at the end of the first half gave them a foot back into the game, and it would also give them the lift into the second half to show that all was not lost. They clawed their way back into the game, taking their own score to 28 points.
Littlemore failed to back down, and reasserted themselves to stretch out the score to a convincing 40 – 28 win at the final whistle.
