🎯 Littlemore RFC House Darts Championship 2026 🎯Just like last year, the sun was blazing for another fantastic day of darts. Thankfully, the club's new industrial fans kept things a little more comfortable! While numbers were slightly down on last year, the standard of darts certainly wasn't.In the ladies' competition, defending champion Beverly Massingham was in outstanding form. She went unbeaten through the league stage before carrying that momentum into the knockout rounds, producing another dominant display to retain her title. Bev defeated Nadine Dodson-Jacob in the final to once again be crowned Ladies House Champion.The men's competition was fiercely contested, with the standard so high that several strong players narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Cup knockout stages.The Bowl competition saw Kaden Kerry take the title after defeating Dale Jacob in the final.One of the biggest surprises of the day came in the men's Cup semi-finals, where two-time defending champion Cliff Whistler saw his reign come to an end after losing to Layton Allen.That set up a brilliant father-and-son final between Layton Allen and Darren Allen. After five incredibly close legs, Darren edged a thrilling contest 3-2 to lift the Littlemore RFC Men's House Championship.Congratulations to all of our finalists and everyone who took part in another brilliant day of darts. On this day, 15 July 2026, marks exactly fifty years since the founding of Littlemore Rugby Football Club on 15 July 1976. What started as a modest gathering of local enthusiasts has grown into a fixture of the Oxfordshire rugby community, celebrating five decades of muddy boots, camaraderie and passion for grassroots sport.In the summer of 1976, Lynn Evans (Head of PE at Peers School) and community administrator Alan Noble called a meeting to establish a rugby club for local school leavers. Around twenty people gathered in the school’s Further Education Block, unknowingly laying the foundation for fifty years of history. Under the guidance of Evans and inaugural players like Captain Dick Rudman, the team won 10 of their 11 games.Originally, players held their post-match festivities at the George Inn, hosted by the hospitable Jimmy Adams. They crowded around a small shed at the back of the pub to raise funds. Then the dream of the clubhouse began. The founding chairman was Kevin Heffernan, with his son Noel Heffernan and Cameron Wilson. Bob Moon (Headteacher of Peers School) saw the potential and vision for Littlemore Rugby Clubhouse. Backed by a lease and loan from Morrells Brewery, it made history and still stands today as the first and only licensed premises on school grounds in England (possibly the U.K.).The club’s identity is proudly worn on their chests, inspired by the historical nature of Littlemore, akin to Temple Farm to Knight’s Templar. Created by Jonathan Rawlinson, this signature crest, adorned with white and royal blue, features a knight's head.Over the decades, the club has enjoyed spectacular success, from County Cup victories over heavyweights like Oxford and Banbury in the 1980s to lifting the County Plate at Iffley Road in 2004. Today, guided by pillars such as President Tim Stevens, Chairman John Perry, Former Captain Jason Chambers, and Team Captain Jack Massey, Littlemore RFC continues to champion its founding ethos: Strength through community.Here’s to the players, volunteers, and supporters who have proudly built Littlemore fellowship over the last fifty years, and to the next fifty years to come.

"The first aid kit finally made an appearance..."Yesterday was another wet and windy night, and with sore bodies all round, they packed up camp and headed for the third and final peak – Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).From the moment theyt set off, Archie was a man possessed. Head down, determined to make Snowdon, his ... the only problem was he kept charging off the path and taking half the group with him! Then it happened. Off the trail, in the middle of a stream, the first aid kit finally came out. Thankfully it wasn't for anything too serious – Dan's boot had completely given up. Luckily, with the skills of a nurse, he soon had it patched up and back in action!The summit once again greeted us with gale-force winds. At times people were clinging on just to stay upright, but everyone dug in and got it done.A special mention has to go to Mr Dickerson. After picking up an injury on the very first climb, he exceeded everyone's expectations, battled through, and even finished by running down Snowdon. Outstanding effort.Massive congratulations to everyone who took part over what has been a very long, very tough, but incredibly rewarding weekend. Every single one of you should be proud of what you've achieved.A huge thank you to Grant Thomas, without whom this trip simply wouldn't have happened. He spent the entire weekend driving them around, somehow putting up with the delightful combination of body odour, wet kit, and Dev's isotonic-fuelled protein farts. That's dedication!A big thank you as well to Tony, Faye and Travis for all their support throughout the weekend. Tony kept them well fed with some brilliant cooking, and the help with putting up and taking down camp every day was invaluable.Finally, thank you to everyone who donated. The support has been incredible, and together we've raised £2033 so far for Motor Neuron Disease and the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, more than any of us ever imagined. 3 PEAKS UPDATE They rolled into the campsite pr

3 PEAKS UPDATEThey rolled into the campsite pretty late Friday night, only to be greeted by gale-force winds that turned putting the tents up into an event of its own. To top it all off, they were told the showers were out of action, which didn't exactly do wonders for morale!With the weather looking no better, they made the sensible decision to be up at 6am, get the climb smashed out, and get back in the minibus as quickly as possible.
The ascent went well, but once they reached the summit the wind and rain were absolutely brutal. At one point they thought they had lost Archie—he was nearly blown off the top! The lad clearly needs a few more pies before the next challenge. 🌬️😂
Massive congratulations to everyone who set off yesterday. Another mountain ticked off and another cracking team effort.Today is the 9 miles of Snowdon then the 239 miles back to the club. The challengers set off at 19.30 Thursday for Fort William, the night was very entertaining with some amazing lightening show which raised a few concerns and possibilities on the climb. Luckily by the time they reached Ben Nevis and against 'professional' forecast, the weather had calmed. Humidity was high, as were their spirits to reach the peak in excellent time but then it all went wrong for Mr Dickerson. With a lack of water and legs that kept cramping he was walked off the mountain in 5hrs.Then on to Scafell Pike last night for a fresh start this morning. They have reached the summit of climb 2 which is covered in cloud but we look forward to hearing how the day went.All in aid of Motor Neuron Disease and the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation
