In glorious sunshine yesterday, Littlemore RFC continued their winning momentum following last week’s victory over Banbury, producing a commanding performance against Wallingford II.
Littlemore got off to a flying start, crossing the line for their first try within the opening five minutes. From there, the pressure didn’t let up, with Littlemore dominating possession, territory and the scoreboard throughout the first half.
By the half-time whistle, Littlemore had built an impressive 37–0 lead, and there was plenty more to come.
The second half continued in much the same fashion, with Littlemore adding to their tally through some excellent team rugby. In total, Littlemore crossed for 10 tries, with five conversions and a penalty, rounding off a fantastic attacking performance.
Credit must also go to Wallingford II, who never gave up despite the scoreline. They continued to battle right until the final whistle and deservedly got over the line twice in the closing minutes. A great example of determination and commitment.
It really was an outstanding effort from every Littlemore player, making it almost impossible to single out individuals. There were strong performances right across the pitch, and Man of the Match could quite easily have gone to any number of players.
However, the captain’s choice was Will Massey, who thoroughly deserved the recognition.
A special mention must also go to George Waite, who managed to earn himself his first ever yellow card from the bench! Clearly getting a little too excited on the sidelines, George found himself in the referee’s notebook being on the pitch when he shouldn’t. Not quite the impact he had planned for the afternoon!
All in all, another excellent team performance and it was back to the club for a Halloween party
