👀 Eyes Down for a Great Cause! 🎉What a fantastic night at Littlemore Rugby Club this Saturday! Our Charity Bingo Night was a massive success — with an incredible turnout and an amazing atmosphere from start to finish.Together, we raised almost £400 for our wonderful next-door neighbours, Peeple, a local charity that supports young families in our community. 💙The prizes were top-notch — with up to £350 up for grabs for some full houses! And the raffle didn’t disappoint either, with some brilliant prizes kindly donated by our supporters. 🎁👏The event was such a hit that we’ve had loads of requests to do it all over again… so guess what? We are! 🎉📅 Mark your calendars — Saturday 27th DecemberIt’s eyes down again for another round of bingo, fun, and fundraising!A huge thank you to everyone who came along, joined in, and helped make the night such a success. 🏉 What a night for Littlemore RFC Minis & Juniors! 🏉Our Minis and Juniors took to the field at Iffley Road on Friday night as Oxford University Rugby Club faced off against Harlequins. Despite the terrible weather, our little ones braved the rain with big smiles — proudly waving the flags as the players ran out from the tunnel. 🌧️👏Joining the players on the pitch were our incredible Littlemore RFC U14s, who stuck it out for the full 80 minutes, running the lines and collecting balls for the men’s teams. Their dedication was amazing! 💪💙It was a great game — hard fought by both sides — and at the end, the players still took time to chat with the kids and sign a few autographs. 🏉 Aylesbury 2’s vs LittlemoreRound 2 of the new season saw Littlemore travel to Aylesbury for their next fixture.With a few familiar faces missing this week, the squad travelled fairly light on numbers due to some last-minute unavailability. Early line-up changes saw front-rower Dom Palmer finally get his much-awaited run-out in club colours.Before kick-off, both teams respectfully observed a minute’s silence in memory of former Oxfordshire RFU President, Jenny Bosley — a poignant moment for those who knew her.As the game got underway, Littlemore were quickly brought back down to earth following last week’s outing. Aylesbury were out of the blocks early, crossing the line and getting on the scoreboard within just a few minutes. Unfortunately, it was one-way traffic for much of the first half, with Aylesbury racking up nearly half a century of points in the opening 40 minutes.For Littlemore, all was not lost. Two tries towards the end of the first half lifted spirits. Fly-half stand-in — and Littlemore’s man of the match — Jack Massey chipped over the defence, collected a pass from scrum-half Vinnie M, and touched down directly beneath the posts. Shaun Eadle slotted the conversion. Shortly after, Littlemore silenced the crowd again as they found themselves deep in Aylesbury’s 22, battling hard to break the defence before hooker Grant Thomas powered over the try line. With two tries and two conversions before half-time, something looked salvageable.Much of the second half played out similarly to the first. Aylesbury’s pace and skill allowed them to extend their lead, but two late tries in the final 10 minutes — Grant Thomas grabbing his second and scrum-half Vinny adding another (both unconverted) — secured Littlemore a well-deserved losing bonus point. Everyone at LRFC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend Jenny Bosley.Jenny was a familiar and much-loved face across Oxfordshire rugby, a dedicated volunteer, leader and supporter who gave so much of herself to the game for almost four decades. Her enthusiasm for rugby and her commitment to the people within it made her truly special.We were always delighted to welcome Jenny and her husband Doug to Littlemore, their support and friendship have meant a great deal to everyone at Littlemore RFC over many years.Jenny’s warmth, kindness, and passion for community rugby touched so many lives, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know her. Our thoughts are with Doug, their family, and the many friends Jenny made throughout her remarkable journey in rugby.Rest in peace, Jenny. You will always be part of the rugby family.
